Microsoft Certified Solutions Junior SharePoint developer
Position is remote. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Position Summary
The Microsoft Certified Junior SharePoint Developer builds and maintains SharePoint Framework components, Power Platform solutions, pages and templates under the direction of the Senior SharePoint Developer. The role carries a real share of the delivery workload – ticket-driven fixes, sprint stories, accessibility remediation and test support –and is expected to grow into independent ownership of components within the first year.
Key responsibilities:
Development
- Build and maintain SharePoint Framework (SPFx) web parts and extensions in TypeScript and React under the direction of the Senior SharePoint Developer (SOW Section 5).
- Build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions for smaller requests where a low-code approach is the appropriate answer.
- Configure and build out SharePoint Online pages, templates, lists, libraries and content types to support agency requirements.
- Implement responsive, mobile-friendly page and component behavior and verify it on mobile form factors.
- Resolve assigned ServiceNow development tickets within the response and resolution targets for their priority, recording disposition on the ticket.
- Write all new code to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Levels A and AA, and remediate accessibility defects in existing components as assigned.
- Run automated accessibility and code quality scans before submitting work for review, and correct findings before requesting review.
- Write and execute unit tests; support the QA engineer in regression testing and deployment verification.
- Support deployments across Development, Test and Production inside approved maintenance windows, and support back-out execution when invoked.
- Use Git and the program’s CI/CD pipelines for all source control and deployment activity.
- Document assigned applications, components and content for reference in the Microsoft Office formats the SOW mandates, and keep that documentation current as the work changes.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives, and demonstrate completed work at sprint review.
- Two or more years of professional software development or SharePoint configuration experience, including at least one year working with SharePoint Online or the Power Platform.
- JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript; working familiarity with React; HTML5 and CSS.
- Familiarity with the SharePoint Framework (SPFx), Node.js and Gulp build tooling, or a demonstrated ability to become productive in them quickly.
- SharePoint Online site and list configuration: lists, libraries, content types, columns, views, permissions and modern pages.
- Exposure to Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.
- REST API concepts; exposure to the SharePoint REST API or Microsoft Graph.
- Git-based source control and pull request workflow.
- Awareness of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0 Level A and AA requirements, with a willingness to be trained to the required testing methods.
- Clear written and verbal communication with teammates and with Government stakeholders.
- Microsoft fundamentals certification: Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a Microsoft 365 Government Community Cloud (GCC or GCC High) tenant.
- Federal civilian agency experience, particularly supporting an OCIO or enterprise collaboration program.
- Experience integrating SharePoint with Power BI reporting and with financial, budget or acquisition systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related field.
